I wrote an adoption lifebook for Bing-Bing – a book to tell her the story of her life before she joined our family.  It covers the first year of her life in as much detail as we have an in a child’s language.  I used the book, LifeBooks: Creating a Treasure for the Adopted Child by Beth O’Malley as a resource.  The book is told from BB’s point-of-view, rather than ours.  I’ve noticed that many children’s stories about adoption are from the parent’s point-of-view.  I worked very hard to include our story, why and how we came to her, but the focus is on her story, from birth to her first birthday.  If you are interested in lifebooks for adopted children and would like to see hers, please email contact me through this blog (email or comment) and I will consider letting you read it.  I know I would have appreciated reading actual lifebooks as I was putting this together and I am willing to share with some.
