The Peking Duck was fabulous!  Bing-Bing loved the duck, but even more the hoisen sauce for dipping.  I never knew anyone who would eat hoisen sauce with a spoon.

This evening after dinner, she herded and corralled us into the kitchen.  She pushed us together into a hug.  We picked her up for a family-hug (we do these often, but always parent-initiated).  After putting her down, she opened the baby gate, and herded us to the dining room and did it all over again.  Yes, I think she’s glad we are a family.

  1. What a difference a year makes!

Sounds like you all had a wonderful time celebrating becoming a family. Rejoice- it’s the first of many many more to come.

  3. It is amazing to see how much she has grown! I love your Chinatown tradition.

  4. WOW! She looks so big, it doesn’t seem that long ago. A year is nothing once you have kids, huh? Gorgeous then and now!

We have “big family hugs” too. M loves them!

  5. She is like twice as big as she was then. I guess that is how it happens! Happy family day.

  6. Awww. So sweet. We love family hugs here too.
