TAPP Study

Hubbs and I are just completing the second interview for the Transition to Adoptive Parenthood Project through Clark University.  Abbie Goldberg, the researcher, is still looking for couples for the study that is looking at how couples adjust to parenthood by adoption.  She is looking to answer the following questions:

    1. What are couples’ decision-making processes about adoption? (E.g., how do they decide to adopt, how do they decide what type of adoption to pursue, etc.)
    2. What factors (e.g., social support, adoption agency practices) are associated with an easier or harder adjustment to parenthood?
    3. How do couples’ lives change when they become parents?

If you and your partner are in the process of adopting your first child, click HERE and check this out.  It’s been a good experience for us, although it was sad to hear our interviewer say that we were the first couple who has adopted from China who are home with their child that she has interviewed so far.  She has others waiting…  waiting…  you know the drill.  There are about 150 couples in the study right now.
