Third Christmas

Today was The Husband’s big family reunion with his grandparents, aunts and uncles, many cousins, and many, many of their kids. It’s a semi-annual event and really neat. At this point, three new ones are expected by next Christmas, including the kidlet. Of course, Kidlet was expected this year. The others have more reliable gestation periods. I’m still in my eighth trimester. None of them have passed three, thank goodness.

This Christmas get-together has been happening since The Husband was a little boy and longer. The event includes lots of good food and a reading of the story of Jesus’ birth from the Book of Luke. The Husband’s grandfather used to read this and he had most of it memorized. Now an uncle takes care of this. He doesn’t have it memorized, but I’m sure it took Grandpa many years to get to that point! Let’s just hope Kidlet makes it next year.

  1. Kidlet will surely be there next year to join in the fun!

  2. “None of them has passed three, thank goodness.”

OMG, laughing so I don’t cry. Thank goodness is right.

  3. Actually, there are 4 new children expected by next Christmas, including Kidlet. That will make a total of 49 at the Christmas party. We still have time yet, so maybe we’ll break 50 by the time we get there.
